Client Challenge

We were recently approached by a charity to help facilitate one of their senior team meetings.  Their meeting took place over the course of 2 days and was focussed around evaluating how effective they were as a team, leading the organisation and delivering on their strategic vision.

Our Solution

We worked flexibly, encouraging the group to explore pertinent areas, whilst being mindful of the meeting’s aims and objectives, keeping them on track.

We helped provide structure, facilitated an exploration of the core issues and gained agreement as the group pushed to develop tangible and attributable actions.

Whilst mindful of the group dynamics our expert Business Psychologists were able to pose difficult and important questions, helping the team identify:

  • How effective are we?
  • What needs to be changed?
  • Who will be responsible for initiating each change?
  • What are the appropriate time-scales?
  • How will we monitor the necessary steps for the change to happen?
  • Do we need to alter our current modus operandi in view of this?

Results

To this end we were able to help the group come to an agreement on the following key areas-:

  • Identity – How are we distinct from other competitors and who are they?
  • Direction – How do we push for performance that leads to high achievement?
  • Capability – Do we have the right tools to do the job?
  • Generating commitment – How do we ensure that everybody in the organisation feels their contribution and work is of real significance?

The group found our facilitating helped them achieve a huge amount, in a more focussed and reflective manner than they thought it possible, and certainly more than if they were to have managed this sensitive activity alone.
